Osmart AI (“Osmart”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a lifestyle and wellness companion app for your smart ring. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and store it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Important notice: Osmart is not a medical service

Osmart is designed for general wellness and lifestyle awareness only. The smart ring is a consumer lifestyle wearable, not a medical device. Any values Osmart shows — including heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), SpO2, stress, temperature, activity, sleep, and workouts — are estimates and trends for personal awareness.

Osmart is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition, and is not intended for emergency use or medical decision-making. Always talk to a qualified healthcare professional about any health concern.

2. Quick summary

  • We collect the information needed to sign you in, set up your ring, and show your wellness trends. We do not sell your data.
  • Your wellness data lives on your device first. A copy is backed up to our cloud so you can restore it on a new device. Data is encrypted in transit and held as a protected cloud backup (it is not end-to-end encrypted).
  • We do not use third-party advertising or analytics/tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • You can delete your data from within the app at any time, and you can delete your entire account (with a 30-day grace period to change your mind).
  • The app is intended for adults 18 and older.

3. Information we collect

We only collect what the app needs to work. We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or advertising identifiers.

3.1 Account and sign-in information

We use Clerk (Clerk, Inc.) as our authentication provider to create and secure your account. When you sign up or sign in, the following may be collected and processed:

  • Your email address.
  • A one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your email to verify sign-in.
  • Your name and profile photo, if you choose to provide them.
  • A unique account identifier and session/authentication tokens.

3.2 Profile information (for ring set-up)

During onboarding you provide a small profile that is used to calibrate the ring and personalize your wellness trends:

  • Date of birth (used to confirm you are 18+ and for age-based calibration).
  • Sex / gender (limited to the binary values the ring’s calibration supports).
  • Height, weight, and step length.

3.3 Wellness and lifestyle data from your ring

When your ring is paired and syncing, Osmart collects the wellness signals your ring records, all as estimates and trends:

  • Heart rate trends and heart rate variability (HRV) trends
  • SpO2 estimates
  • Stress trends
  • Temperature trends
  • Activity (steps, calories, active minutes, activity score)
  • Sleep (sleep stages and related patterns)
  • Workouts (type, duration, distance, pace, calories, and heart rate trends)

3.4 Device and technical information

To connect to your ring and keep your data in sync, we process:

  • Ring information: model/name, battery level, firmware version, and the Bluetooth identifiers needed to connect to your ring.
  • Sync information: timestamps/watermarks describing how far your data has synced.
  • App/technical information: app version, SDK version, and your device’s time zone (used to display your trends at the correct local time).

We do not collect data through third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

4. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and secure your account and sign you in.
  • Pair and calibrate your ring and keep it connected.
  • Calculate and display your wellness and lifestyle trends.
  • Back up your data so you can restore it on a new device.
  • Keep the service reliable, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your wellness data for advertising.

5. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)

Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the app, your account, and the features you request.
  • Consent — for pairing your ring and processing the wellness data it records (you can withdraw consent by unpairing the ring and/or deleting your data).
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, reliable, and free of abuse.
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.

6. How your data is stored and protected

  • Local-first. Your wellness data is stored on your device in a local database. The app is designed to work on-device; the cloud is a backup and restore service, not the primary store.
  • Cloud backup. A copy of your data is backed up to our cloud so it can be restored on a new device and so your account can be recovered. Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS and is held as a protected backup on our servers. This backup is not end-to-end encrypted: we, and the providers who host our backend on our behalf, are able to process your data in order to provide backup, restore, sync, and account features.
  • One active device. For security and data integrity, an account has one active device and one live ring connection at a time. Signing in on a new device restores your data from the encrypted backup.
  • Hosting. Our cloud backup and account services run on infrastructure provided by our hosting and cloud providers, who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

7. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with:

  • Clerk, Inc. — our authentication provider, to create and secure your account (email, OTP, and account identifiers). See Clerk’s privacy policy at 【https://clerk.com/legal/privacy】.
  • Our cloud hosting and infrastructure providers — who store the encrypted backup and run our backend on our behalf as data processors.
  • Legal and safety — where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Osmart, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred, and this policy will continue to apply.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

8. Data retention

  • We keep your account and wellness data for as long as your account is active, so the app can display your history and restore it to new devices.
  • When you delete data or your account, we remove it as described in Section 9.
  • We may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

9. Your choices: deleting your data and account

You are always in control of your data.

9.1 Clear your wellness data

In Settings → Data & Account → Clear data, you can delete your wellness data. This removes the data from your device and from our encrypted cloud backup. Deleted records are permanently tombstoned and are not restored on future sign-ins.

9.2 Delete your account

In Settings → Data & Account → Delete Account, you can permanently delete your account.

  • When you request deletion, we unlink your ring, stop syncing, and sign you out on this device, and your account is scheduled for permanent deletion after a 30-day grace period.
  • During those 30 days you can sign back in and cancel the deletion to restore your account and data.
  • After the 30-day grace period, your account and the data in your cloud backup are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

To remove Osmart’s wellness data from this device right away, use Clear data (Section 9.1) before deleting your account, or delete the Osmart app from your device.

9.3 Unpair your ring

You can stop collecting new wellness data at any time by unpairing your ring in the app.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information (you can edit your profile in the app).
  • Delete your information (see Section 9).
  • Export / port your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app controls in Section 9 or contact us at info@osmart.ai. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

11. Children’s privacy

Osmart is intended for adults aged 18 and older, and onboarding requires you to confirm you meet this minimum age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at info@osmart.ai and we will delete it.

12. International data transfers

We may process and store your information in countries other than the one you live in, including where our hosting and service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers of personal data.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Osmart after an update means you accept the revised policy.
